I grew up in Orange County when Dick first started. "He was a god". He packed the Rendevous Ballroom in Balboa every weekend. Let's Go Trippen was an anthem to all of us at that time. Later on he got a little too commercial for those of his early fans. LGT is still our favorite as it's raw like the sound of him playing live.
Early on in my playing career (early 1970's) I realized that the only way you could play "Pipeline" correctly is to use a pick about two inches thick and turn the reverb and tremolo to 11.
