Let’s get one thing straight. A sweet potato is not a yam. Ok?
North Americans just call sweet potatoes yams because … who knows? Fewer syllables???
Real yams grow on vines, most of them are found in Africa and South America, and while they are interesting (and even tasty), they are not potatoes, so I don’t know why we’re wasting your time on them.
Alright alright alright.

Let’s get on to some sweet potatoes. Which are DEFINITELY potatoes because it says so right in the nam- OH SON OF A BITCH.
What a waste of time.
Sweet potatoes aren’t actually potatoes - they’re actually part of the morning glory family, not the nightshade family. Which makes them significantly less interesting AND less toxic. (Why are those two things always related?)
Do we even have to continue writing this?
Seriously, fuck you Ipomoea batatas. You are nothing but a starchy yellow fraud, like a certain strangely-hued “President.“
